The Basics

What: Sea Base Bahamas Adventure

When: Sunday, July 19 to Sunday, July 26, 2026

Where:  Sea Base, Marsh Harbour, Bahamas (will fly into MHH Abaco Bahamas Airport)

Travel:

  • Air and ground travel to be arranged by Troop

Fees:

Estimated total cost is $2,400-2,600.

  • $200 deposit for Scouts and Adults, non-refundable.

  • Sea Base provides meals, dry bags, fishing equipment and nearly everything else you will need on your adventure.

  • Individuals are required to use their own mask & snorkel at Sea Base. Sea Base will provide fins, a snorkel vest and mesh bag.

Activities

The Sea Base Bahamas Adventure is a six day, five-night "live-aboard" sailing trek based out of Marsh Harbour in the Abaco Islands, Bahamas. Expect to sail on a 40–50 foot sailing vessel that serves as your mobile home, classroom, and base of operations for the week. Activities include sailing, navigation, snorkeling, island exploration, and reef fishing.

Prerequisites

Scouts

  • Must be at least 13 years old by July 19, 2026

  • Weight cannot exceed 295 pounds

  • Strong swimmer; passed BSA Swimmer’s Test within the past 12 months

Adults

  • Registered member of Scouting America

  • Current Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) certification (available through your myscouting.org account)

  • Required Training: Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, and Hazardous Weather Training

  • At least one adult leader in each crew must complete Wilderness First Aid Training (WFA) and Basic CPR/AED

  • Weight cannot exceed 295 pounds

  • Strong swimmer; Passed BSA Swimmer’s Test within the past 12 months
